He manages to balance action and nostalgia without going overboard. After all the hype, the film delivers in the old-fashioned way. Although not the best, J.J Abrams should be given credits directing an earnest film that is worthy to be called 'Star Wars'. The story: The film does not bother slowing down to introduce the new characters. Right from the start,  it is packed with action. It is those quieter moments which the characters have no dialogue along with the soothing score from John Williams that stand out. Although the film is packed with action to the brim, one of the disappointing things is that there is only one lightsaber fight scene and it is at the climax. Rating: 3.4/5 Review: "Scream Queens season 1 TV review" The premise got me excited as I enjoy watching whodunit movies/series. The recent TV series that comes to mind is the Scream TV series which is a solid entertainment. However, on the first episode of Scream Queens, it is clear that this aims to set a different tone. Sarcastic, tongue-in-cheek and playful with lots of jarring pop culture references. I admit that I was entertained however as I watched more episodes, its obsession with focusing on the over-the-top sarcastic jokes is getting a bit annoying. Episode 1-13: The first few episodes are entertaining to watch, it is kind of funny and there are deaths and mystery. The fatal flaw comes later when you realise the series focuses more on tongue-in-cheek jokes rather than on the mystery of the killer.
