Review: "Almost Human season 1 TV review"

The previews of it look promising; high budget production, packed with action, Sci-Fi story and J.J Abrams' lens flare. Come to the actual series, it is not bad but it deserves to be better with all the things involved.

EP 1: It starts off with a big bang featuring a high octane action scene. The rest of the runtime is briskly paced. It doesn't bother to introduce all of the characters in details. It just zooms straight to the action. As usual, the first episode is packed with enough action and thrill.

EP 2-13: After a thrilling 1 episode, unfortunately the rest of the episodes turn familiar and not so fresh. Every episode has a story that has been seen before. The story is just backed by high production, interesting visuals and the likeable chemistry between the two main characters. I was disappointed that the season 1 didn't touch on the Insyndicate, the group mentioned in episode 1. I was eager to find out more about the group and what was their motive. But no, nothing much is mentioned throughout the whole season. At the end of the season, there are questions left hanging. Nothing much is resolved. With the series being cancelled, there is not much hope left.

Overall: The season does not reach up to the standard of the first episode. But it is the likeable chemistry between the main characters that you won't mind watching the other episodes. Fans of Sci-Fi and action should be entertained by this.

Rating: 4.5/5 Review: "Man of Steel movie review" With all the hype from the trailers, I must say this is what it looks to be expected. I have to say that this is the biggest and epic superhero movie yet. This treats destructions like child's play. It is also the most explosive superhero movie. There are so much explosions that they could literally make you exhausted from watching all those. Although this is directed by Zack Snyder, this does not have much of his trademark except the visuals. His slo-mo trademark is not featured. Instead, the action is rapid fast. Man of Steel is a good entertainment with exciting action scenes and visuals but at the same, a somehow touching human drama. The story: We get an extended opening scene on Krypton where Kal-El is just born. However the planet is going to be destroyed with General Zod adding to the problem. To save Kal-El, he has to be sent to another planet known as Earth. What is interesting about the movie that it do...
Rating: 3.5/5 Review: Taken DVD review Taken is a new action movie that makes the audiences want more hard and gritty action flicks. I can see that now. Taken has the drama (Yawn!) and the realistic action (Like the Borne movies). Clocking at only 1 and a half hour, the movie starts off slow with drama. After half and hour pass, it goes straight to the intensity and non-stop realistic action. I don't like the slow start. As it is only 1 and a half hour, it do not have the time for slow characters' development. It should drive straight to the action, unless it clocks around 2 hours. The story: It seems to be the usual kidnapping movies where the bad guys kidnap some random girl/boy and ask for ransom. But in this, they kidnap young women to become sex-slaves. A father of a kidnapped daughter is enraged and goes to Paris where his daughter is. "I will find you! I will kill you!" He says to the bad guys. He starts punching and kicking people to hell. He kicks men's b...
Rating: 3.5/5 Review: "From Vegas To Macau 2 movie review" "Loads of fun in Wong Jing's bigger sequel." Wong Jing is back with more madness, action, explosion and a longer runtime. As every sequel tries to top its original in every way, From Vegas To Macau 2 is no different. Lots of explosion, lots of wacky humour and more CGI, if these are your entertainment, the movie will do you no wrong. From the opening gun fight to the CGI climax, the story is kept brisk to keep your attention in check. The story: Chow Yun-fat is back as the titular gambler, Ken, with the magic hand. This time, the movie exaggerates his skills with CGI poker cards until it almost becomes a fantasy. But that's to be expected in a Wong Jing's movie. This time, the location is shifted to Thailand where Mark (Nick Cheung), an accountant in a money-laundering syndicate, DOA, is chased by Interpol and DOA. Ken has to save him and help his protege, Vincent (Shawn Yue). Wong Ji...
