Rating: 3.5/5 Review: "Quick DVD review" This is a rare korean action blockbuster. It has everything that an action movie must have. Noticeably, korean action movies seldom have loud explosions, brisk pace and lots of action. But this sets the bar of action high in korean movies. Although, it seems like Quick steals stunts, car crashes from superior Hollywood action movies, it is still a fast entertaining action romp. The pace is like the title of the movie: Quick. There are non-stop action chase scenes filled with crashes and explosions. The story is easy enough to understand. This is what a korean action blockbuster should be like. Once in a while, movies like this happens. This year, it seems that Soar into the Sun starring Rain will take Quick's role of a blockbuster. Rating: 3.4/5 Review: "Taken 2 movie review" After watching the first one, I had no idea how the sequel would continue where it last stops. The first one is already considered as a complete movie. It ends with a happy ending. It has to be the massive box office earning that the producers want to continue it as a franchise. It is not necessary a bad thing if the sequel has some fresh ideas. Unfortunately, Taken 2 features none. At best, it is an enjoyable action thriller and nothing more. The story: Liam Neeson is back kicking more asses. This time, it is him and his ex-wife being taken. Kim (Maggie Grace) plays a more serious role in this, saving her father. Rating: 4.2/5 Review: "Dredd 3D movie review" This is some sort of a reboot of the 1995 version which was poorly received by audience and critics alike. This could be compared to Batman Begins where the new version is gritty and more realistic. Dredd is a gritty, violent and serious action thriller. The action starts from the start of the movie and does not let you breathe until it is over. The story: It is straight-forward. Judge Dredd is assigned to grade a rookie, Anderson, who has psychic powers. They goes to Peach City where murders have been taken place. I have no doubt that it looks good in 3D since the previous movie looks good in 3D. To say the truth, Resident Evil: Retribution seems to be nothing special without the amazing 3D like what Resident Evil: Afterlife is. Rating: 3.4/5 Review: "The Apparition movie review" Ashley Greene and the premise are the ones that attracted me. Ashley is no doubt hot in this and her acting is not bad. The premise, 'You believe, you die' seems interesting but unfortunately the movie didn't make full use of it. It is just touch and go. The end result is a generic but entertaining horror movie. The good: Ashley is hot. Music is surprisingly okay for a horror movie. There is a sense of dread in the music. Like this, it seems like a straight-forward stalker movie but there's supernatural thrown in to confuse the audience whether it's really a supernatural or a stalker movie. Rating: 3.7/5 Review: "Total Recall movie review" It is based on the original short story by Philips K. Dick and some may call it a remake of the classic movie. I have not read it nor watch it so I will base my review without any knowledge of it. Total Recall is a fast-paced action-packed action thriller. It is actually helped by its thrilling action scenes. The story is surprisingly straight-forward and seems almost there just to piece the action scenes together. But Len Wiseman, who has done great action before, crafted some extended exciting action scenes and they work and it is impossible not to take yours eyes off while watching.
