Rating: 3.5/5 Review: "Up DVD review" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First, I don't care how critics or fans lap this up with extremely positive reviews. I am just going to say what I have to say. Up is Pixar's latest animation and first 3-D movie featuring polished animation. Honestly, I did not watch a lot of Pixar's movies and could not remember much about them. 2005's The Incredibles caught my eyes and that is all and until now, Up. Up is an interesting adventure movie that will appeal to all ages. It got cute talking dogs and a weird bird, an usual thing for animation movies, it gets cute written everywhere. The story: The first ten minutes of this 1 hour 36 minutes is just an introduction of Carl Fredricksen and his wife. After the surprising death of his wife, he becomes grumpy and serious. He gets annoyed with people who surround him and decides to fly his house as what his wife would like.
Rating: 3/5 Review: "Fireball movie review" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hong Kong has its own kung Fu basketball movie, Kung Fu dunk by Jay Chou. Now, Thailand has its own Kung Fu basketball movie, Fireball. The good news is that it is better than the empty Kung Fu dunk which has nothing to do with Kung Fu or basketball. Though, it is better, it is not very good...when it comes to the action/fight scenes, the camera work becomes frentic and I could not take a proper look at how they are fighting. The camera work is shaky and it shakes like a mad dog itching to get close to the action but could not so as it avoids being hit by the actors doing some manic stunts. The story: It starts up with some confusing story line. You see someone goes out of jail and later sees him visiting someone whom is his brother. Blah, he joins a violent basketball game where the players are supposed to knock the others holding the baske
Rating: 3.5/5 TV review: "Cutie Honey the live review" (2008) (25 episodes) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have finally finished watching this. The japanese drama, Bloody Monday took quite a lot of my time. Based on the anime and there is also a live-action movie-not related to this series. Now coming to this, it is a pretty engrossing series with good over-the-top fight scenes. Clocking at 23 minutes each episode, Cutie Honey manages to entertain me with its silly and lame jokes, fight scenes using wire and suspense. As it goes near the end of the whole series, there are dark secrets spilled out. The truth about Honey and etc. The story: It is basically Cutie Honey fighting off the bad guys, Panther Claw consisting of some weird villians like the so-called leader of the group who always likes to say,"Shit!" in english when he gets angry. He does in a comical way especially when he says,"Son
Rating: 4/5 Review: "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra DVD review" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is filled with amazing special effects and practically non-stop action. Since it has action from the start to the finish, you cannot expect other things to be injected into this mindless entertaining movie other than special effects. Some of the action sets are stunning yet very cartoon. I enjoyed Stephen Sommers' movies including the recent Van Helsing. His movies though lacked of a proper story line are at least interesting to look at. The story: There is not much of a story, if you want a story, it is a race between the good and the bad. Duke and his friend,Ripcord join the mysterious G.I. Joe. Yes, there are some lame lines and some lame jokes made by Marlon Wayans, a guy who cannot stop cracking jokes even if there are some serious things going on. As you have seen in the trailers, this is pra
Rating: 3.5/5 Review: "Kamen Rider Den-O: Final Countdown movie review" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are rumours that this would be the final movie for Den-O. But now, it seems to have a fourth movie featuring Den-O and Decade. Whatever it is, Final Countdown is the third movie for Den-O. I like this one better than the other two. The first one is quite entertaining but it is quite short. It only clocks around 1 hour. The second one is longer but it is a little boring. Clocking around 1 hour and 20 minutes, the pace is not very fast and this one has the least action out of the three movies. It has only two major action sets. The first one has around three action sets. The third one has three major action sets and the music is epic (I could hardly hear the music from the other two) The story: Kamen rider movies basically have the same plotline. And it is always the good prevailing the bad. This movie also has n
