Rating: 3.6/5 Review: "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D season 2 TV review" Season 2 has improved greatly. Starting straight from the massive cliffhanger in season 1, season 2 is more tense, action-packed, darker and better paced. I think season 1 took its time to introduce its characters before diving into the action. The time is spread out to individual characters' development. More twists and turns make the season a stark improvement. Episode 1-22: Skye has discovered her powers and is learning how to cope with it. Meanwhile, the team has its problems. Coulson seems to be hiding secrets. In fact, everybody has secrets. More powers are unleashed. It is a little surprising that Marvel is bold enough to veer the series to a darker tone by amping up the number of deaths and more violence. The whole season has little humour and moves at a brisk pace without really pausing. As the tension between human and superhuman increases by each episode, it is an exciting season that w
Rating: 3.6/5 Review: "Gotham Season 1 TV review" The series is inspired by the Batman franchise and not based on it. There are changes and even new characters are added. And note that it is called Gotham, not Batman. Season 1 is a decent character piece that sees character developments of some of the major villains like Penguin, Riddler and Catwoman. Episode 1 to 22: As usual, the first episode has enough action and story to hold my attention. Generally, most of the episodes move briskly packed with enough information and characterisation. However, starting from episode 12, things become more tense with the battle of the wits and twists. The villains' character developments move in a teasing way; not fast nor slow. It is long enough to lead to the next season. Gordon, supposedly the main character, is alright as a main character but at times, he is annoyingly arrogant, brash and straight-forward. The development of the young Bruce Wayne is decent but the main
Rating: 4.5/5 Review: "The Avengers: The Age Of Ultron movie review" It follows what any sequel would do: bigger action, more explosion, more CGI set pieces, more characters, more subplots and more of everything. Luckily, Joss Whedon (who helmed the first movie) somehow knows where to stop. Although at times, it is clear that 'Bigger' gets in the way. In the second outing, the Avengers are more emotionally developed and everyone has different ideas and motives thanks to the series of solo movies. Though the movie feels crowded and bloated at times, it is still massively entertaining with its thrilling action set pieces and yet is emotive at core. The story: Most sequels start with a big bang action scene and this is no different. The Avengers is on a mission: to raid Hydra outpost. Before you say Joss gets too overwhelmed with big action and explosions, he smartly lets the audiences spend the next 20-30 minutes uncovering more of each avengers emotionally. T
