Rating: 4/5 Review: "Sherlock Holmes: A game of shadows Blu-ray review" This sequel to the first movie has a long title; of course not as long as some. But I believe the title is important to the movie. This is more action-packed than the first so fans of the first movie should be pleased with it. I believe some fans of Sherlock Holmes will not like the direction Guy Ritchie is going. At times, the movie felt like it is more of an action movie rather than a mystery-deduction movie. All is fine for me as this has a good mix of great action with a thrilling plot and music composed by Han Zimmers. Heck, this even has one of the best action scenes I have ever seen before; escape into the woods. Picture quality though dark and dull is sharp and clear Blu-ray special features-3/5 There is only one special feature which is the maximum mode. I didn't bother to watch it but when I tested it, the disc hung and the player was switched off. Maximum mode is useless to me. Th
Rating: 3.8/5 Review: "Whiteout Blu-ray review" I have upgraded it from DVD. Well, the Blu-ray is obviously more sharper and crisper than the normal DVD version. The colors are more brighter. The faces appearances are more sharper and you can see wrinkles or whatever. The downside of the disc is that it doesn't actually have a menu. It only has a special features menu where you can play the movie from there. Blu-ray special features-3/5 There are two featurettes; one for the making of the movie (11 minutes) and another for the discussion of bringing the comic to life(10 minutes). Both are passable for special features stuff. There are also deleted scenes (4 minutes) which is also included on DVD. There are previews before the movie. Overall: If you are a rare fan of the movie, it's worth the upgrade. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rating: 3.7/5 Review: "Red Riding Hood Blu-ray review" It is a passable mystery thr
Rating: 3.9/5 Review: "Snow White and the Huntsman movie review" I have to admit that though the movie has some pacing problems, the whole movie is visually interesting. So there was not really a boring part because visuals are there to enchant every scene. The director, Rupert Sanders, is a first-timer but it is impressive that he has a great eye on visuals. He could be easily compared to Tarsem, another director who directs beautiful visually movies like Immortals. If this hits the jackpot at the Box Office, I'm sure we will see more of Rupert's works on the big screen. The story: It is pretty much a twist on the Snow White tale and it is based more on the Grimm Brothers' story. So you can expect it to be pretty dark and grim. The movie starts off with the introduction of a young Snow White and the Queen played by a menacing Charlize Theron. The pace starts to move briskly with an older Snow White escaping from the Queen's cell. And the adventure s
