Rating: 4/5 Review: "The Wolverine movie review" The X-Men franchise is still churning out movies in every few years. Next year, we will get another sequel directed by Bryan Singer. With many movies out, it is a surprise that the franchise can still remain fresh and gets better. The Wolverine can be added to one of the best X-Men movies following X-Men: First Class. It can prove that even without a lot of CGI, it can be grounded and compelling in the story and character department. The story: The movie takes place after X-Men: The Last Stand where Logan is still feeling guilty after killing Jean. Logan's guiltiness is one of the more interesting aspects in the movie. We see how he struggles living with the pain. Another interesting thing is that Logan becomes mortal. This time, we can feel a sense of danger and threat for him. Rating: 4.2/5 Review: "Pacific Rim 3D movie review" It is rare to see a huge blockbuster like this disappoints at the box office. The trailers show this as a huge action-packed blockbuster filled with CGI. The trailers are not wrong. Perhaps the audiences are tired of seeing giant robots dishing out. This is actually no difference with Michael Bay's Transformers in term of big action and spectacle. The story: The movie opens up with a brief introduction of Kaijus invading and destroying earth. The only thing humans can do is to create robots to match with their size and power. The introduction moves on to the opening action scene which will reassure the audiences that it will deliver big wham-bam action and great special effects. The story is actually very simple. Guillermo del Toro's movies are always simple but his vision is the one that makes the movies a whole lot better. Pacific Rim is no difference but it shows what Guillermo can do with a big budget.
