Rating: 4/5 Review: "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation movie review" "An equally thrilling yet safe installment to the Mission: Impossible franchise."  Tom Cruise is back and though he is ageing, he still proves he is capable of stunts. Mission: Impossible - Rough Nation is an action-packed thrill ride but everything is familiar from the mysterious organisation to the double-cross agent. It does not deliver anything we have not seen in the Mission: Impossible franchise. Luckily, director Christopher McQuarrie injects the same thrilling energy into his set pieces and keeps the pace fast enough. The story: IMF is disbanded and a wanted Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is determined to bring down a mysterious organisation, the Syndicate. Yes, that is all the story offers. The series of action set piece push the story forward. Director Christopher is known for his smaller film, Jack Reacher. From the get-go, he is determined to show that he can handle an action fil
Rating: 3.5/5 Review: "Eye Candy Season 1 TV review" "An alright whodunit teen MTV series that is not very focused." The premise based on the novel by R. L. Stine is interesting enough for me to watch the first episode. Victoria Justice has matured from her old Nickelodeon days. Here, she plays Lindy who is almost like a superhuman hacker. The show contains enough thrills, suspense, attractive cast for a teenager. The story: The 10 episodes are hit and miss. The first episode is engaging enough to capture my attention, staging a kidnapping scene in the beginning. Soon, Lindy is spooked by a cyber serial killer who is prowling on a dating website. Not bad for a start. However, my hope of a decent whodunit fizzled down from episode 4 when the show looses its focus on finding the killer by adding in more villains and subplots. Thankfully, episode 8 and onwards, the show gets back on track to the revealing climax. The reveal of the killer is not particularly
Rating: 4.1/5 Review: "Ant-Man 3D movie review" "Ant-Man may be small but big on entertainment." When Edgar Wright was announced to direct the new solo movie from Marvel, I was excited to see what he could do with a superhero genre. However, to my dismay, he left the project soon and was replaced by Peyton Reed (who has directed a few comedies). I did not want to judge the new director and when trailers were released, it seems like it was right on track. True enough, the final product is a decent entertaining Marvel movie. The story: Cat burglar, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is released from prison. Wanting to turn over a new leaf, he is unwillingly drawn into a new heist plan when Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) chooses him to steal a suit that could cause troubles. The whole 117 minutes is entertaining, it does not get boring. Understandably, the first solo movie may lack the big action scenes but it is not excusable not to have a fairly decent villain. The fatal
Quick Reviews: Rating: 3.7/5 Review: " 12 Monkeys TV review " I did not watch the movie however you don't have to watch it to understand the TV series. There are probably references to the movie. Most of the 13 episodes are engaging and filled with twists and turns. As a time-travel story, it is somewhat understandable and as usual, it has some plot holes. Acting wise is alright, the usuals. The special effects, sets and music are decent. Overall: It is worth a watch if you have the time. I am drawn to the tense storyline that has a clock ticking. It makes more curious about the movie and will probably watch it. It ends with the usual cliffhanger however, I hope it will end soon. How long can you continue with this storyline before it looses its steam? Rating: 3.7/5 Review: "Daredevil TV series (2015) review" When it was announced that Daredevil would be showing up in small screen, my heart leapt. Daredevil is one of Marvel's most interesting characters. He is brooding, dark and although he has super senses, he is still human fighting for Justice. The Daredevil film and director's cut directed by Mark Steven Johnson is one of my guilty pleasures and I find it terribly underrated. Ben Affleck is an alright Matt Murdock and the cast is decent enough. Although story could be better, action and music are great. Fast forward to 2015, Marvel decided to amp up the gritty world of Daredevil. With its unflinching brutal violence and darker tone, it looks like the fans have its Daredevil. The story: The 13 episodes act as a movie without the "Previously, last episode". It best works when you watch them together as sometimes. I watched 1 episode a week and sometimes I forgot some of the side plots or charac
