Rating: 3.5/5 Review: "From Vegas To Macau 2 movie review" "Loads of fun in Wong Jing's bigger sequel." Wong Jing is back with more madness, action, explosion and a longer runtime. As every sequel tries to top its original in every way, From Vegas To Macau 2 is no different. Lots of explosion, lots of wacky humour and more CGI, if these are your entertainment, the movie will do you no wrong. From the opening gun fight to the CGI climax, the story is kept brisk to keep your attention in check. The story: Chow Yun-fat is back as the titular gambler, Ken, with the magic hand. This time, the movie exaggerates his skills with CGI poker cards until it almost becomes a fantasy. But that's to be expected in a Wong Jing's movie. This time, the location is shifted to Thailand where Mark (Nick Cheung), an accountant in a money-laundering syndicate, DOA, is chased by Interpol and DOA. Ken has to save him and help his protege, Vincent (Shawn Yue). Wong Ji
Rating: 3.4/5 Review: "Fifty Shades of Grey movie review" "An average steamy drama saved by decent cinematography, acting and some well-shot sex scenes." The books are a hit so it is no surprise when an adaptation is announced. I have not read the books so I can't say how close the movie is with the first book. As a movie, it is somewhat alright to watch but it lacks the 'must-watch' factor. One of the biggest flaws is the runtime of 2 hours. Halfway through the movie, it is obvious that the story is going nowhere. I felt that a good 5-10 minutes could be shaved off to move the story forward faster. The story: It is just the usual romance plot where the girl falls for the handsome man. Character development is not strong here. Dakota Johnson, who plays Anastasia Steele, is attractive in some ways and matches with the good-looking Jamie Dornan (plays Christian Grey). Dakota has not much to act out in the first half of movie other than to swoon
Rating: 3.5/5 Review: "Ah Boys To Men 3: Frogmen movie review" "An entertaining local movie that shows improvements from Jack Neo." The first two movies did well in the local box office so it wasn't much of a surprise that Jack Neo decided to return for a third outing. The question is, since the duology has closed a chapter of the characters, what else could Jack show? He did a smart move by revisiting the characters' lives and raising the question, "What if they had gone to NDU (Naval Diving Unit)?" And it is released as a standalone movie. The result is an entertaining and funny movie that will touch locals at heart. It is also the best recent Jack Neo's movie. The story: The movie starts with a bang with a well-executed (by local standard) and thrilling action scene at the sea. Viewers get to see their favourite characters engaged in gunfire and fights. Sadly the movie ends on a soft note without an exciting climax or resolution.
