Review: "Justice League 3D movie review" (120 minutes)

"Despite the heavy criticism, I enjoyed Justice League very much due to Zack Synder's style. It is not a perfect movie; the short runtime and rushed development but if you are willing to overlook the flaws, you will get a pretty enjoyable movie."

The most anticipated superhero ensemble is finally released and heavily criticized. By now, I am convinced that critics are biased against Zack Synder. Not that I think he is the best director, he does know how to create an entertaining movie. The criticism is the usual; ugly visuals, lack of character's development, chaotic action. I could at least try to understand the harsh criticism on his poor direction on story and pacing. But I am appalled when the critics start tearing him apart on his visual direction. I think he directs visuals well; he is almost a painter for movies. And that is what Justice League is about. Zack is known for his 'comic book' style and the CGI fest is definitely attractive in its own ways. Yes, it feels rushed but I can't deny that it is super entertaining.

The story: It follows a straight path without any twist. It continues after the aftermath of the destruction in Batman V Superman. After the death of Superman, Bruce Wayne is trying to recruit a team of metahumans to save the world. It is no spoiler to say that despite some difficulties, they eventually form up a team. The pace is brisk enough not to make me feel bored. There are enough action packed in between. Nothing breath-taking, the generally well-done action scenes contain Zack' trademark of slo-mo. The two hours runtime means everything is rushed. The build up to the first team up action scene could have been more rousing. Many characters appear like cameos and do not contribute a lot. I think they are saved for the solo movies such as Aquaman and The Batman. I was a bit disappointed that DC Comic tried to make this more light-hearted after Batman V Superman was criticized for its dark tone. I think Zack's dark tone sets apart from the lighter Marvel's movies. Thankfully, Zack didn't entirely make a fool out of every character in this.

Acting wise is alright. The movie becomes more light-hearted and the characters are more cheeky. Ben Affleck gets to play a wisecracking Bruce Wayne. Gal Gadot plays the same Diana we know. Jason Momoa plays a decent Arthur Curry/Aquaman. I am excited to see him more in his solo movie. Ezra Miller is alright as an awkward Barry Allen/The Flash. I find him a bit too awkward to be actually funny. Ray Fisher is also alright as he is covered by CGI for all of his screen time. Danny Elfman is new to the DC Extended Universe and it is disappointing that he brings nothing new to the table. The score sounds generic and not epic enough.

3D: It was an okay experience. Nothing too fantastic. It has the usual depth between characters and background. It adds little oomph to the action scenes. Apart from the great slo-mo, the 3D usage is mildly disappointing. If you have the extra cash, it is no harm to watch this in 3D. However, missing it in 3D wouldn't be a big thing.

Overall: It is a damn straight-forward story. But Zack's visually appealing style has made this a lot more entertaining to watch. It is mercifully short but at the same time, it could benefit with a long runtime. Basically, if you don't like Zack's style, don't expect to like this. This is, in fact, strictly for Zack's fans. I am a fan of his so I enjoyed the movie very much. I really hope the DC Extended Universe will still continue even though this movie is deemed not to perform as expected in box office.

Rating: 3.6/5 Review: "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D season 2 TV review" Season 2 has improved greatly. Starting straight from the massive cliffhanger in season 1, season 2 is more tense, action-packed, darker and better paced. I think season 1 took its time to introduce its characters before diving into the action. The time is spread out to individual characters' development. More twists and turns make the season a stark improvement. Episode 1-22: Skye has discovered her powers and is learning how to cope with it. Meanwhile, the team has its problems. Coulson seems to be hiding secrets. In fact, everybody has secrets. More powers are unleashed. It is a little surprising that Marvel is bold enough to veer the series to a darker tone by amping up the number of deaths and more violence. The whole season has little humour and moves at a brisk pace without really pausing. As the tension between human and superhuman increases by each episode, it is an exciting season that w
Rating: 3.5/5 Review: "From Vegas To Macau 2 movie review" "Loads of fun in Wong Jing's bigger sequel." Wong Jing is back with more madness, action, explosion and a longer runtime. As every sequel tries to top its original in every way, From Vegas To Macau 2 is no different. Lots of explosion, lots of wacky humour and more CGI, if these are your entertainment, the movie will do you no wrong. From the opening gun fight to the CGI climax, the story is kept brisk to keep your attention in check. The story: Chow Yun-fat is back as the titular gambler, Ken, with the magic hand. This time, the movie exaggerates his skills with CGI poker cards until it almost becomes a fantasy. But that's to be expected in a Wong Jing's movie. This time, the location is shifted to Thailand where Mark (Nick Cheung), an accountant in a money-laundering syndicate, DOA, is chased by Interpol and DOA. Ken has to save him and help his protege, Vincent (Shawn Yue). Wong Ji

As a stand alone movie, it does pretty well to engage audiences with its great special effects and fantasy creatures. I cannot compare this with the first trilogy as I can hardly remember it although I will catch it later. But as it seems, this is more lighter than the serious first trilogy. Sure this has its fair share of intense battles but this is more light-heart. The story: With a runtime of 2 hours and 49 minutes, you can be sure that this will take its sweet time to get the adventure going which is true. After a brief action-packed introduction, the movie moves slower. The first half and hour sees a hobbit's unwillingness to go for an adventure as the other dwarves plan to steal their treasures and take what is rightfully theirs. After the hobbit agrees, the fantasy adventure starts and following it are dangers.
